The Slangenborg

 

De Slangenborg is a small-scale nature reserve in the heart of Westerwolde, south of Sellingen. It's a place where those seeking peace and quiet and nature lovers can relax in their own unique way and completely escape the hustle and bustle. The adults-only site offers ample space for peace and privacy.

 

During the summer months, from June 1st to September 1st, you can camp on one of eleven solitary pitches or on the hikers' field for hikers and cyclists (slow travelers). All pitches are green and sheltered, ensuring you'll experience plenty of peace and privacy while camping.

 

This stylish nature house is available year-round. It's completely secluded, with panoramic views of the adjacent nature reserve, so you can enjoy peace and quiet in any season.

 

Whether you choose the comfort of a detached cottage or the simple outdoor life on one of the camping pitches: at De Slangenborg, everything revolves around silence, nature, and relaxation in a beautiful landscape.

Nature House for Rent

 

The Marter nature house at De Slangenborg is available for rent all year round and offers a quiet, comfortable place to completely unwind.

 

The bright space of approximately 30 m² combines living, sleeping, and cooking in a single, open-plan space. Large windows and French doors seamlessly connect the indoors with the outdoors, allowing nature to permeate the space.

 

Inside, you'll find a warm and carefully decorated interior with natural materials. There's a comfortable seating area, a dining table, and a luxurious double bed, making you feel right at home. The bathroom has a modern look, with a playful nod to the marten—a regular in this area.

 

It's also pleasant to spend time outdoors. On the spacious terrace with its own outdoor kitchen, you can enjoy long, peaceful evenings surrounded by greenery and tranquility.

 

There is a minimum stay of two nights. Arrivals and departures are possible any day of the week.

Camping in the Summer

 

The De Slangenborg campsite is open during the summer months, from June 1st to September 1st. Outside of these months, nature is given all the space and tranquility it needs to recover.

 

The property is exclusively for adults. This contributes to the quiet, peaceful atmosphere so characteristic of De Slangenborg, making it a place where peace and simplicity are paramount.

 

The camping pitches are secluded, surrounded by greenery and with ample space between them. Each pitch has its own character: a sunny open space, a sheltered spot at the edge of the woods, or a field with a view of the adjacent nature reserve. This way, you'll experience peace, privacy, and connection with your surroundings while camping.

 

Camping at De Slangenborg is camping in all its simplicity. Wake up to the sound of birdsong, the scent of grass, the interplay of light and shadow, and evenings that slowly fade into night. A place to slow down, read, walk, and enjoy a landscape that can still be truly silent.

Sanitary Facilities

 

During the summer months (June 1st to September 1st), De Slangenborg offers well-maintained sanitary facilities. The sanitary building is cleaned daily and equipped with showers, toilets, and dishwashing facilities, ensuring a comfortable stay.

 

There's also an inclement weather facility: a sheltered, inviting area where you can stay dry in inclement weather. Here you'll find a refrigerator and power outlets for charging phones or e-bikes, or for cooling groceries.

 

These facilities also fit in with the small-scale and peaceful design of De Slangenborg: functional, well-maintained and with attention to the environment, so you can enjoy peace and nature without a care in the world.

De Slangenborg offers a detached nature house and, during the summer months, camping pitches and a field for hikers. Below you will find an overview of the current rates.

Nature house: € 125.00 per night

 

The following is included in your stay:

Detached nature house of approx. 30 m², fully furnished

  • Luxurious double bed and modern bathroom

  • Tourist tax (€1.40 per person per night)

  • 21% VAT

 

Conditions:

  • The nature house is exclusively intended for adults

  • Visitors are not allowed during the stay

  • Deposit € 200.00
