Camping site rules
The camping area of De Slangenborg is a small-scale natural site, intended for guests who consciously choose peace, space and respect for the surrounding environment. In order to protect the site and its delicate natural balance, the following site rules apply. We kindly ask you to read them carefully so that everyone can enjoy a pleasant and harmonious stay.

Guests and length of stay
Camping at De Slangenborg is exclusively available to adult guests aged 21 and over. To safeguard peace and privacy, we do not accommodate groups of more than two people. The maximum continuous length of stay on the camping area is twenty-eight nights.
The camping area is open during the summer months, from 1 June to 1 September. The site offers eleven spacious, individually located pitches with a minimum stay of two nights. In addition, there is a trekking field for slow travellers, suitable for a maximum of six people or four small tents, with a stay of one to a maximum of three nights.
Peace, quiet and care for nature
Peace and quiet form the core of the stay at De Slangenborg. We ask all guests to behave calmly and to treat fellow guests, animals and the natural surroundings with respect. Noise disturbance, restless behaviour or other disruptions do not fit the atmosphere of the site. In the event of persistent disturbance, we reserve the right to ask guests to leave the site.
We value and care for the trees, shrubs and vegetation on the grounds and ask you to treat them with care. It is not permitted to attach washing lines, hammocks or other items to trees or shrubs. Waste water must not be discharged onto the ground and should be disposed of via the designated facilities.
Visitors
Visitors are welcome on the regular camping pitches between 10:00 and 20:00. A maximum of two adult visitors per pitch is allowed per stay. We ask you to notify the owner of their visit in advance, verbally, by phone or via WhatsApp, so that we can take their presence into account and maintain the peaceful atmosphere of the site. A fixed contribution of five euros per person applies to visitors, including the use of the sanitary facilities and the shelter for bad weather. Visitors are required to observe the same site rules as our guests.
Visitors are not permitted on the trekking field.
Vehicles, camping units and ground load
After unloading your camping equipment, we kindly ask you to park your car in the central parking area. A maximum speed of ten kilometres per hour applies throughout the site. This is necessary to prevent damage to the grass cover, the soil and the root systems of trees and vegetation.
Camper vans may only be driven on the site on the day of arrival and departure and must remain in place during the stay, comparable to caravans. In this way, the load on the ground remains limited. Although camper vans are heavier than passenger cars, occasional movement combined with stationary use is acceptable for the site.
Heavier motorhomes are not permitted. Motorhomes longer than five metres and higher than two metres twenty have a significantly higher total weight and axle load. On a natural, unpaved site this leads to soil compaction, deep ruts and lasting damage to grass, roots and vegetation. In order to protect the site and its natural balance, such vehicles cannot be accommodated.
Camping units must not be left unattended overnight.
Dogs
A maximum of two dogs per pitch is permitted. Dogs must not roam freely and may not be exercised on the camping area. If your dog relieves itself, including outside the site, we kindly ask you to clean this up yourself. Excessive barking, digging holes and leaving dogs unattended in a camping unit or vehicle are not permitted, in order to maintain peace and safety for all guests.

Waste
At the entrance of the site you will find the waste station, with containers for glass, paper, residual waste and green waste. Bulky waste, such as broken camping equipment or furniture, must be taken home by the guest.

Fire and safety
The safety of our guests is of primary importance. Open fires and campfires are not permitted. Barbecuing is only allowed after consultation with the site manager. At all times, fires must be supervised, never left unattended, and fully extinguished before leaving. A fire extinguisher, first-aid kit and AED are available at the sanitary building.
Internet use
Guests may use the wireless guest network on the site. This service is provided without any guarantee of correct operation or continuous availability. Use is entirely at your own risk. You are responsible for the security and configuration of your equipment. It is prohibited to distribute illegal or inappropriate material via the network. As this is an open network, data may potentially be intercepted; we therefore advise against transmitting confidential information.
Liability and compliance
Staying on the camping area is entirely at your own risk. De Slangenborg accepts no liability for theft, damage or personal injury. In order to safeguard peace, safety and harmony on the site, we reserve the right to terminate a stay in the event of a breach of the site rules. In such cases, access to the site may be denied without any right to a refund.
We trust that every guest will contribute to the calm and respectful atmosphere that characterises the camping area of De Slangenborg.
